Since 1971, ICAS has proudly represented and empowered the people of eight North Slope villages, preserving Iñupiat traditions and values. We are dedicated to self-governance, stewardship of our land and resources, and the preservation of our rich culture.

Iñupiat Community of the Arctic Slope, as a federally recognized Tribe, in accordance with the Indian Reorganization Act of 1934, is obligated to protect and preserve our inherent sovereign rights and powers.

The Iñupiat Community of the Arctic Slope (ICAS),

established in 1971 under the Indian Reorganization Act, is a tribal government representing the Inupiat people of the Arctic Slope region, aiming to exercise sovereignty, conserve resources, and provide services for current and future generations.
