The Iñupiat Community of the Arctic Slope (ICAS) is proud to announce the release of the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) 2025-2030. This plan outlines a strategic framework to foster economic growth, strengthen resilience, and support sustainable development across the North Slope region.
The CEDS 2025-2030 provides an in-depth analysis of the challenges and opportunities facing our region, integrating community input, economic data, and environmental considerations. Key areas of focus include:
- Village Sustainability & Resilience – Addressing infrastructure development, housing, utilities, and emergency preparedness.
- Economic Growth & Infrastructure Development – Strengthening industries such as oil & gas, workforce development, telecommunications, tourism, and transportation.
- Community Health & Well-being – Improving healthcare, elder and youth services, public safety, and food security.
- Environmental Stewardship – Tackling climate change, subsistence resource management, and protecting tribal lands.
- Economic Resilience & Future Planning – Strategies to ensure long-term economic stability in response to environmental and market changes.
Developed in collaboration with regional stakeholders, tribal organizations, and local leadership, the CEDS reflects traditional Iñupiat values while setting actionable goals for sustainable development.
