The Inupiat Community of the Arctic Slope (ICAS) is seeking dedicated and visionary Tribal
Members to serve on the Board of Directors for Inupiat Tribal Business Solutions (ITBS), the
newly established economic arm of ICAS.
Serving as a Board Member is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the economic growth and
success of our Tribe while helping to manage and oversee the administration of the State Small
Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) grants awarded to the Tribe.
ABOUT INUPIAT TRIBAL BUSINESS SOLUTIONS (ITBS)
- Formed on February 19, 2026, as a subordinate arm of ICAS under Iñupiat Holdings.
- Operates as an economic instrumentality of the Tribe to foster and manage economic
initiatives while preserving the sovereign immunity of the Tribe. - Focuses on ensuring sustainable economic growth and effectively utilizing grant resources
for the benefit of the Tribe.
BOARD MEMBER RESPONSIBILITIES
Board Members will:
- Oversee the management of ITBS in alignment with the goals and vision of ICAS.
- Collaborate to develop strategies for economic development and grant administration.
- Maintain and ensure compliance with the Articles of Formation and Tribal policies.
- Act with integrity and in the best interests of ICAS, ensuring transparency and
accountability.
The Board of Directors will consist of: - Five (5) Members, including:
o One (1) member from the Tribal Council (e.g., District or At-Large Representative).

- Possess experience or interest in business, finance, governance, or related fields.
