Scholarships:
ICAS also administers Scholarships and Adult Vocational Training programs for Anaktuvuk Pass & Point Lay. Eligibility: Students must be ¼ or more degree Alaskan Native/American Indian, or enrolled members of a Federal recognized Tribe. Must be enrolled in a four-year academic degree program. Must be accepted by an institution that is accredited by a national or regional accrediting agency or is a candidate for accreditation, or is a tribal controlled community college.
Homemakers:
Senior tribal members have access to information and referral services, respite care providing relief to unpaid family support, chore services assisting with daily living activities such as housework, laundry, meal prep. etc., case management, and supplemental services. (Currently provided to Anaktuvuk Pass and Pt. Lay, referral services for non-tribal members and members from other villages.)
ICWA:
The purpose of the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) is “…to protect the best interest of Indian Children and to promote the stability and security of Indian tribes and families by the establishment of minimum Federal standards for the removal of Indian children and placement of such children in homes which will reflect the unique values of Indian culture… “(25 U.S. C. 1902).

Assistance:
General Assistance
Financial Assistance payments to an eligible Alaska Native/American Indian for essential needs which include food, clothing, shelter and utilities.
Burial Assistance
A financial assistance payment made on behalf of an indigent Indian who meets the eligibility criteria to provide minimum burial expenses according to BIA payment standards established by the US Department of Interior Assistant Secretary.
Emergency Assistance
Financial assistance for essential needs to prevent hardship caused by burnout, flooding of homes, or other life threatening situations that may cause loss or damage of personal possessions.
ICAS is a payer of last resort, if you are approved of funding from any other source, ICAS cannot provide funding.
