To provide access to quality education based on the Iñupiaq language and culture that prepares students to lead, thrive, and influence their local communities, the Arctic Slope, and broader society.

We are dedicated to providing high-quality education for all our members, from early childhood through adulthood. Our initiatives include:

    • Iñupiat-Focused Learning: We are designing and implementing a full-service Tribal Education System (K-12) rooted in Iñupiat language, culture, and traditional ways of learning.
    • Qargi Academy Expansion: We are expanding Qargi Academy to every village, starting with Wainwright and adding two villages per year.
    • Teacher Apprenticeship Program: We have created a Teacher Tribal Education Apprenticeship program with certifications to develop and support Iñupiat educators.
    • Community Partnerships: We are building a strong network of community partners to enhance educational opportunities.
    • Sustainable Funding: We are securing consistent funding sources to ensure the long-term success of our education programs.
    • Career and Technical Education: We are planning and implementing a full-service Career and Technical Program for K-12 students and adults to provide valuable skills and career pathways.
    • Business and Career Development: We support village residents in business development and career development training.
    • Adult Education: We support adults who have not graduated to complete courses and receive a diploma.

  • Advocacy: We actively participate with a tribal education advocacy organization to strengthen educational rights and opportunities for our people.

Our commitment to education reflects our belief in investing in our children and future generations. We strive to create a learning environment that honors our cultural heritage while preparing our students for success in a changing world.
